“bancock alarm forces you to save”

“Banclock is a cubic alarm clock from Japan that has no off switch or snooze button. The only way you can turn it off is by feeding it some coins every morning. It was designed to force you to save a little money every day, but it’s constant beeping would only remind me of how poor I am. Every morning when I couldn’t find any change to give it I’d just lie in bed crying, listening to the beeping of my own failure.”

and to think . . . i’m already not a morning person . . . 🙂

* be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

* sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.

* i have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. some come from ahead and some come from behind. but i’ve bought a big bat. i’m all ready you see. now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!

* i like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. which is what i do, and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.

* all alone! whether you like it or not, alone is something you’ll be quite a lot.

* i’m afraid sometimes you’ll play lonely games too, games you can’t win because you’ll play against you.

* i’m sorry to say so but, sadly it’s true that bang-ups and hang-ups can happen to you.

* you can get help from teachers, but you are going to have to learn a lot by yourself, sitting alone in a room.

* preachers in pulpits talked about what a great message is in the book. no matter what you do, somebody always imputes meaning into your books. (???)

anonymous male speaks the truth . . . November 12, 2006

men are scum. s-c-u-m. all of us. i know whereof i speak, believe me. there is only one thing that keeps us from being complete scum and that’s you. ladies, you are the civilizing influence. and the moment you cease to be civilized there is no hope for anything good or lasting to happen.

(okay, maybe a little strong. i would hate to think that we women are the only thing keeping civilization together . . . that is a bit egotistical. however, i must commend him on his honesty and dead accuracy on the scum thing . . . 😉 )

the nation’s morals are like its teeth. the more decayed they are, the more it hurts to touch them.

if you say something bad about someone, you will discover that the same criticism applies to you.
